Winter get-together
Thanks to Gail Parker’s last-minute announcement a week earlier at the 10 o’clock service, our congregation came together for a post-worship pot-luck luncheon on Jan. 23, giving everyone the opportunity for some quality fellowship and some fortifying hot food before venturing out into sub-freezing temperatures.

On Human Relations Sunday, the United Methodist Women of the Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church presented Stephen Bither with its Mission Recognition Award for his work with the church and the community throughout the past decade.

Another successful evening at CEUMC
Even though the monthly Beans and Casserole Supper was a week later than usual because of New Year’s Day, the Jan. 8 event was a success with more than $700 being raised from tickets purchased by members of the congregation and the public.

Gathering on Tuesday, Jan. 10 
The United Methodist Women will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. in the Sunshine Room.
This will be the planning meeting for events throughout 2012 and also to help determine how mission money will be sent.

New class continues Sunday
Regina Wilson is leading a new Adult Education Class on Sundays at 9 a.m. in the Sunshine Room.
The seven-week series of classes will follow Branson Thurston’s book “Jesus, God’s Epiphany to the World.”
