Welcome!

Welcome to the Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church web site. We are so glad you have dropped by. As you browse the site, it is our hope you will find useful information and a “grace”-ious spirit.
We are a small, dynamic congregation of those seeking to worship God and serve our Lord, Jesus Christ in all that we do. It sounds simple, but it is a challenge to which we are ever striving to be faithful through creativity and compassion.
We would love to have you join us in person. We worship Sunday mornings at 8 and 10 o’clock. The 8 o’clock service in the chapel is cozy and informal. The 10 o’clock service in the sanctuary is traditional, led by our wonderful choir. We use a variety of media to convey the Good News.
Sunday School for children and youth is at 10 o’clock. They join us in worship for the first 15 minutes and then go to their classes. Child Care for little ones is also provided.
We are proud to be a United Methodist congregation that welcomes all God’s Children with open hearts, open minds and open doors.
Grace and Peace,
Ruth Morrison, pastor

Who we are
United Methodists share a common heritage with all Christians. We trace our roots to John Wesley who lived in England in the 18th century.
John Wesley and the early Methodists were particularly concerned about inviting people to experience God’s grace and to grow in their knowledge and love of God through disciplined Christian living. They placed primary emphasis on Christian living and on putting faith and love into action.
This emphasis on what Wesley referred to as “practical divinity” has continued to be a hallmark to United Methodism today.

The church is located at 280 Ocean House Road in Cape Elizabeth. The woods behind the church includes a Prayer Walk and an outdoor chapel for special occasions and services.

An inspirational stained glass is in the corner of the chapel. The first service every Sunday is held in the chapel at 8 a.m.

The main sanctuary includes a high-arched ceiling and a stained glass cross. The 10 a.m. Sunday service is held in the sanctuary.
Members of the congregation gather following a special service in May to celebrate the church's 150th anniversary
